Cubs & Scouts Summer Camp 2018

Hello All,
We hope everyone arrived home safely and isn't too tired!!
Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, we wouldn't be able to run these events without you. Putting up tents, loaning equipment, helping with clearing away, baking (hint to Cassies mum, we love you!), to staying the weekend as a parent volunteer, all of this makes a successful camp and a successful group for our children.
Everyone had a brilliant weekend, we were lucky with the weather, even if we did book on the busiest weekend Bowley has ever seen.
Friday night was a noisy one, the majority of children had never camped before so it took a while for everyone to settle down. We were extremely impressed with the way everyone cracked on with setting up their camp areas, the pitta bread pizzas were also a huge success.
Saturday was a busy one, even though we could not book many activities we managed to fill the day easily. Grass sledging was a particular highlight with the leaders and adults even joining in.
All the children made a fantastic effort on the walk to Whalley and back, everyone was tired yet they really did just get on with it.
We finished the evening with campfire singing, s'mores and a wide game for the older ones.
This morning the children packed away brilliantly, every child assisted in packing away a very big camp area!!

We also handed out Cub & Scout of the camp, very well deserved and the children chosen are truly a credit to our group
